The sign that fed a city
El Palacio is gone, but the way Huntsville remembers it tells us what a restaurant can become.
Some restaurants live in a city twice: first as a place you can walk into, and later as a collection of directions people still give by memory.
The old El Palacio sign belongs to that second Huntsville. It is a landmark made from appetite, repetition, and the stories families tell when a familiar building disappears.
Hungry Hungry Huntsville is interested in that residue. Not nostalgia as decoration, but food as a way of locating ourselves—who took us there, what we always ordered, and why a particular glow on Governors Drive can still feel like a coordinate.
