Why this place matters
A chapter of my family lore lives inside Madison’s former City Hall and jail, where Mom, Mama Jo and I shared chicken poulet, quiche and strawberry pretzel salad while passing trains rattled the building. Southern comfort, international flair and three generations of memories make this much more than lunch—it’s a Madison institution that still feels like family.
