Square at 113

We discovered Square at 113 by accident while walking through downtown Athens on the night of its soft opening in February 2026. We hadn’t planned a restaurant visit or arrived chasing a new opening. We simply followed the signs of life and walked in. That spontaneity became part of what the place means to us. We had recently made Athens home, and here was a new locally owned restaurant beginning its own chapter at almost the same time. Better still, it was somewhere we could reach on foot—something I never take for granted in a small Southern town. The food gives us plenty of reasons to walk back. The fried pork chop arrives golden, substantial and ready to command the table, while the hot honey wings balance sticky sweetness with enough heat to keep things interesting. Add a welcoming porch, local musicians, karaoke and community events, and Square at 113 feels less like a restaurant we reviewed than a neighborhood gathering place we were lucky enough to find at exactly the right moment.
